Restaurant of the Moment: Bertrand at Mister A’s

If you’ve been in San Diego for any length of time, you will have certainly heard of Bertrand at Mister A’s. Considered the pinnacle of the fine dining experience in San Diego, from its perch on top of an office building you will be treated to dramatic views of downtown, the Coronado Bridge, and the bay.
The food is impeccably prepared. Start your meal off with a unique appetizer, fresh salad, or soup poured fresh at your table. The table bread is served warm and crispy, with a fluffy center. Some of the main course standouts include the rack of lamb, the prime beef filet, the duck, and the lobster. They are known for their truffle mac and cheese, which is very good. The truffle fries are also a standout.
They have an extensive dessert menu with a number of different signature creations, including ice cream and sorbet. As it was wintertime, they were serving pumpkin bread pudding, which was very good. Even a simple dish of ice cream was accompanied by a few macaroons.
All in all, a great dining experience for a special occasion, celebration, or birthday.

Agates, amethysts, crystals, and other stones are often associated with New Age Mysticism. But they can also make a chic addition to any home. Whether it’s a color-coordinating set of agate coasters, a pretty pair of bookends, or a few small crystals on the book shelf, this trend is easy to work into any home. For a more DIY approach, frame a selection of agate slices and arrange them gallery style or scatter them over the walls of your home. The larger crystals and stones tend to be less affordable, but smaller stones and pieces can often be picked up at vintage or thrift stores or even estate sales.
