If you’re in the mood for the best BBQ in San Diego and you’re looking for some place that isn’t Phil’s, Oink and Moo is well worth the drive up to Fallbrook. Just make sure you make a reservation as seating is limited!

Oink and Moo primarily serves burgers, BBQ, and stuffed pork chops. If you’re looking for BBQ, get either the pulled pork sandwich or one of the platters. We recommend the rib sampler platter which comes with a little bit of everything: Baby Back Ribs, Pork Spare Ribs, and Bronto Beef Ribs. On the burger side of the things, you can’t go wrong with the Oink a’Doodle Moo, which is a burger topped with a fried egg, bacon, and your choice of cheese. You can also BYOB (Build Your Own Burger). The OINK brand on the burger buns is a nice touch! They also have specials including rare meats like alligator! For sides, we recommend loading up on the mac n’cheese, waffle fries, onion rings, tater tots, and biscuits. The sides are almost as delicious as the main course!

Oink and Moo is open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner – come hungry and bring the whole family!

Ocean Beach has always been a fantastic place to hangout especially when you have a craving to grab one of the world’s greatest burgers at Hodad’s!  The food is so satisfying, even celebrity chef, Guy Fieri stopped by to host the show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” at Hodad’s.  According to the the website, a “hodad” is a nonsurfer who spends time at beaches masquerading as a surfer. Which explains why their one-of-a-kind burgers are served in a vibrant beach atmosphere!

After enjoying success with their food truck and their first storefront location in Mission Valley, Grater Grilled Cheese recently opened a store in Carmel Valley at the Del Mar Highlands Town Center!

A word of advice: if you don’t like cheese and butter, you’re not going to enjoy this restaurant. But if your late night dreams are made of cheese, you’ll want to try the Grater Grilled Cheese menu right away! The menu consists of grilled cheese sandwiches (of course), mac n cheese, tomato soup, and loaded cheese fries. Our favorite grilled cheeses are the Basic 5 Grilled Cheese and the Avocado Grilled Cheese. You can also create your own grilled cheese sandwich! The mac n cheese is also delicious, though more of a side size than an entree. We really liked the Grater Mac! And of course you can’t go wrong with the cheese fries, or Pommes Frites! Try the 5 Cheese or the Lobster Pomme Frites which are big enough to share!

If you’re craving a good grilled cheese and tomato soup or mac n cheese, stop by Grater Grilled Cheese! “Making the world a grater place one grilled cheese at a time!”

Nestled in a small shopping center on the edge of Scripps Ranch, Todo’s Sushi is one of the area’s best kept secrets! A true hole-in-the-wall sushi joint, Todo’s is a local favorite that turns out consistently delicious sushi.

Open for both lunch and dinner, Todo’s is known for their amazing rolls! We recommend bringing a few friends so you can sample several different rolls. Our favorites are the Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll, Spider Roll, Langostino Crunch Roll, Star Wars Roll, Sensual Pleasure Roll, and Sweet Hawaiian Roll. If you sit at the bar, you’ll get the opportunity to sample even more delicious food as the chefs will make sure your plate is never empty!

Restaurant of The Moment: Rimel’s Rotisserie

12955 El Camino Real Suite G-2

San Diego, CA 92130

Rimel’s is a popular family-owned restaurant located in the Del Mar Highlands. The all-natural, healthy, and locally-grown menu has been a success for over 22 years. The rotisserie kitchen cooks everything over oak, which is milled from their local ranch, and serves grass-fed, Animal Welfare Association approved meats. The bulk of the fish served is supplied from their own fish company that is long-line caught and local when possible.

Our favorite menu item at Rimel’s has to be the pot-stickers. They are crisped to perfection and lathered in a mix of three homemade sauces. You also can’t miss their rotisserie chicken, which is juicy, flavorful, and all-natural. Other delicious menu items include the steaming rice bowls, tortilla roja soup, and the simple, grilled fish tacos. Most plates are served with rice, beans, and as many of their sauces as you desire.

Rimel’s also has two other locations in La Jolla and Cardiff-By-The-Sea.
