Design Trends: Color Report for 2014

Pantone, the same company responsible for naming Emerald as 2013’s Color of the Year, has released a report that features all of the hot shades for home and interiors in 2014.

They have divided their picks into four themes: Techno Color, Physicality, Sculpted Simplicity, and Fluidity.

Techno Color:

This color palette reflects the advent of technology in color and design, giving way to richer and more vibrant hues.

Physicality:

These shades balances colors that traditionally evoke power and energy with other, calming shades, resulting in a very balanced and tranquil palette.

This palette is made up of more elegant hues, evoking sophistication and harmony.

Fluidity:

These colors bring to mind the sense of water and vibrant under-sea color.

  1. Gray is definitely the new hot color when it comes to interior paint but you have to be really careful because gray takes on so many different hues. I have a client that recently choose a gray that made her walls almost pink, she had to test two more colors before getting it right.
